U.S. Army Garrison, West Point
ENVECO was awarded a new contract with U.S. Army Garrison, West Point, New York. The project involves removal and disposal of approximately 10,000 tons of contaminated intermixed construction debris and soil generated during construction of new facilities at the garrison. The material is stockpiled in a remote wooded area of the garrison. This project is the second phase of work. Previously, ENVECO removed and disposed of approximately 33,000 tons of stockpiled contaminated material. The removed material generated during the first phase was and the material that will be generated during this new phase will be transported to a reclamation site secured by ENVECO, resulting in beneficial reuse of the material. Identifying a beneficial reuse for the material diverted the material from a landfill and allowed the U.S. Army to classify the waste as recycled. Finding beneficial reuse alternatives for wastes supports ENVECO’s commitment to identify green and sustainable solutions, while successfully completing the mission objectives.
